2011 (Redshirt): Joined the team as a walk-on and sat out the season to meet NCAA transfer guidelines. . . practiced with the UL quarterbacks. . . took part in spring practice in 2011.

Mississippi State: Was a member of the Bulldog football team for two years (2009 & 2010). . . played in three games as a freshman at quarterback in 2009. . . redshirted in 2010.

High School: First team all-district choice as a senior at Oxford High, playing for coach Johnny Hill. . . played freshman season at Ridgeland (Miss.) High but transferred to Oxford for sophomore year. . . three-time all-district choice, helping team to the second round of the state playoffs as both a sophomore and junior. . . served as team captain as a senior. . . also lettered twice in baseball, playing right field and pitching.
