Louisiana Volleyball Hosts Red and White Scrimmage on Saturday

LAFAYETTE – Head coach Kristi Gray and the 2025 Louisiana Volleyball squad are conducting the annual Red and White scrimmage on Saturday, August 23 at 1:00 p.m., inside E.K. Long Gym (500 E. St. Mary Blvd.).

Admission is free and open to the public with doors opening 60 minutes before the event. Concessions will be available for purchase in the lobby area of the gym.

Fans of the Vermilion and White will get their first opportunity to meet the 2025 edition of the Ragin' Cajuns. Senior Cailin Demps, last season's leader in kills, is the veteran leader of a squad that features 11 new faces as UL enters Year No. 5 under Gray's leadership.

Competition in the intrasquad scrimmage will consist of three sets of play, with the final frame to 15.

Following the conclusion of play, a post-match autograph session will be held where fans can collect an official team poster.

LOOKING AHEAD
Louisiana officially starts the 2025 season from Friday-Sunday, August 29-31 inside E. K. Long Gym hosting the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic. The season opener occurs at 6:00 p.m. on August 29 vs. Texas Southern.

ABOUT LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns are welcoming 11 new members to the roster for the 2025 season including several transfers from highly successful programs.

Senior opposite hitter Cailin Demps looks to build upon her first career 200-kills season – she recorded 294 last season. UL has gained valuable experience at setter with junior transfers Ryleigh Garis and Nene Hawkins having combined to play in 413 sets.

Attendance has remained at an all-time high as the Ragin' Cajuns surpassed the 7,000-mark in total attendance a second straight season (2023 and 2024) last fall which has brought the three-year total in rise of attendance following the debut of Gray's style of play to 20,789.
