• Louisiana looks for its first win at home over USM since a 13-7 victory in 1993.
• The Ragin' Cajuns' 23-13 win over the Golden Eagles last season in Hattiesburg snapped an 11-game slide in the series and was the second win on the road in 26 games.
• Current Louisiana Football General Manager Reed Stringer was on the staff at Southern Miss from 2018-24 and served as the Golden Eagles' interim head coach for the second half of the 2024 season.
• Nine players on the current Louisiana roster hail from the state of Mississippi.
• Lunch Winfield became the third different player (Walker Howard/Daniel Beale) to start at quarterback this season for the Ragin' Cajuns.

• The Golden Eagles imported several key members of the 2024 Marshall squad, which defeated Louisiana in the SBC Championship Game.
