Cajuns and Bears to square off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday for the first spot in Lafayette Regional final
LAFAYETTE – The No. 13 national seed Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team will meet Baylor at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 in the winner's bracket final of the NCAA Lafayette Regional at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park.
The Ragin' Cajuns (43-17) and Bears (33-20) face off for the driver's seat spot in the NCAA Lafayette Regional – the winner of Saturday's contest securing the first spot in Championship Sunday and moving within one win of the NCAA Super Regional round.

Louisiana entered the winner's bracket on Friday powered the trio of Denali Loecker, Sam Roe and Alexa Langeliers combining for seven RBI and Chloe Riassetto, Loecker and Lexie Delbrey working to shutout Princeton in an 8-0 (5 inn.) triumph.
Baylor gained entry into the winner's bracket with its 3-1 opening round win over Ole Miss led by home runs from Emily Hott and Shaylon Govan and a one-hit performance from pitcher Aliyah Binford.
The Ragin' Cajuns and Bears are meeting in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the regional round of the 2015 event held at Lamson Park. That year the two programs faced off in both the winner's bracket final and regional championship round.
Louisiana seeks to advance to Championship Sunday of an NCAA Regional for the 16th consecutive appearance dating back to 2008.
