LEADING OFF
>> Louisiana and Louisiana Tech conclude a midweek home-and-home series, the Ragin' Cajuns returning the visit from the Bulldogs on Feb. 20.

>> UL is closing out a four-game road trip and a stretch where the squad has played 19 of 20 games away from home dating back to Feb. 23.

>> The series with LA Tech has decidedly been in UL's favor for over two decades, the Cajuns holding a 31-game win streak that dates to 1998.

>> Louisiana carries a season-best, nine-game winning streak to Ruston.

>> Sparked by Victoria Valdez's three-run homer in the second, UL scored four straight innings in pulling away for a 9-3 win over LA Tech on Feb. 20.

A LOOK AT THE SERIES

Last: 2/20/24 – UL 9, LA TECH 3 (Lamson Park)

- UL's current series win streak dates back to April 1998 (took Game 2 of DH on 4/25/98 in Ruston).
- With exception of COVID season (2020), the two programs have met each season since 2019.
- Cajuns second appearance at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. UL won 8-2 in its first visit last May.
- Before May 2023 contest, the 30 prior matchups in Ruston were at the Lady Techster Softball Complex.
- Vast majority of the all-time series meetings took place from 1984-2000.
- LA Tech, along with UL, was a charter member of the Sun Belt's softball league in 2000 (tournament only) and began regular season play in 2001 (Tech left the league in 2002).
