Ribero Stays Hot with Win at Lake Charles Invitational

Ribero led the Cajuns with four wins heading into the weekend
LAKE CHARLES, LA - The Louisiana men's tennis team opened play at the Lake Charles Invitational with a win by William Ribero on Friday, September 22 at the Lake Charles Racquet Club.
Ribero earned the win over UTSA, who finished last season ranked No. 42 in the country, defeating Garrett Skelly, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4. Ribero almost had a doubles win with freshman Samuel Kyjaci against Sun Belt Conference rival South Alabama but came up just short in a 6-4 defeat.
Elsewhere in singles Kyjaci and fellow freshman Mason Landreth competed against the Roadrunners. Kyjaci fell in a tight contest, 7-5, 7-6 (6) while Landreth came up just short in another close match, 7-5, 7-5.
The Cajuns are back in action tomorrow at 9 a.m. in Lake Charles, Louisiana. They'll open with doubles against Southern Miss before facing South Alabama in singles.
