Louisiana Opens Fall at Diving Eagle Invite

DENTON, Texas – The Louisiana women's tennis team is back in action starting Friday, September 15 at the Diving Eagle Invite hosted by North Texas. The three-day event also features McNeese State, Louisiana Tech, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton, and UT Arlington.
The Cajuns return three of their top players from last season; Carla Urchoeguia, Angelique Berrat, and Cristina Tchanichev. Urchoeguia won seven singles matches and was 10-6 in doubles action, playing the majority of the season on court one. Berrat teamed with Urchoeguia to win those 10 doubles matches while also winning 10 singles contests on her own. Berrat is coming off a 10-win year of her own in singles, with eight of them coming on court three.
Juliette Finch headlines the newcomers after earning an NAIA All-American honorable mention at Xavier (LA) two years ago. She finished the 2021-22 season ranked No. 15 in the ITA NAIA South Region and helped lead her team to the national quarterfinals. Also joining the Cajuns are Jenalila Prulla and Karolina Skowronska.
