Louisiana paired with Boise State, UConn, Kansas in second round
LAHAINA, Hawaii – Malan Potgieter recorded his fifth round in the 60's during the 2023-24 season as he fired a 4-under-par 67 and led the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on the opening day of the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational on Thursday at the Ka'anapail Golf Club.
Second-round play of the 54-hole event will begin on Friday with a 1:30 p.m. CT shotgun start. Louisiana which fired a team score of 4-under-280 to finish in a tie for 10th place, will be paired with Boise State, UConn and Kansas.

Potgieter, who equaled his season-low round, opened the tournament at No. 13 and made the turn at 2-under after recording birdies at No. 14 and 16. The sophomore added birdies at No. 1, 5 and 6 to finish four strokes behind Robbie Higgins of North Florida.
Eli Ortego, Jake Marler and Burke Alford each recorded rounds of even-par 71 for the Ragin' Cajuns with Dylan Keating posting a 2-over-73.
Liberty claimed the first-day lead after posting a team score of 22-under-262. Georgia (266), San Jose State (269), East Tennessee (272) and defending champion Oklahoma (272) rounded out the top five.
