Ragin' Cajuns face Panthers in annual Homecoming game
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Football team makes another appearance on national television on Saturday when it faces Sun Belt Conference opponent Georgia State in the annual Homecoming Game at Cajun Field.

Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be televised live on ESPNU with Courtney Lyle (pxp) and Hutson Mason (analyst) providing the commentary.

Fans in the Lafayette area can listen to the call of Jay Walker (pxp), Gerald Broussard (analyst) and Cody Junot (sideline) on Hot 107.9 FM, 103.3 The Goat, KPEL 1420 AM or worldwide on the Varsity Network app.

Louisiana (4-2, 1-1 SBC) returns to the field for the first time since a dramatic 34-30 win over Texas State on Oct. 7. Redshirt freshman Zeon Chriss tossed a season-high three touchdown passes for the Ragin' Cajuns and scored the eventual game-winner on an 8-yard run with 2:21 remaining.

Dalen Cambre's blocked punt in the fourth quarter set up the eventual game-winner while K.C. Ossai posted a season-high nine tackles while forcing a late fumble to help Louisiana secure the win.

GSU (5-1, 2-1 SBC) opened the season with four consecutive victories before falling against Troy on Sept. 30. The Panthers, off to their best start in program history, bounced back with a convincing 41-24 win over Marshall last week in Atlanta behind 159 yards on the ground from Marcus Carroll.

LOUISIANA WELCOMES GEORGIA STATE FOR HOMECOMING WEEKEND
• Louisiana celebrates Homecoming on Saturday as it welcomes Georgia State to Cajun Field for a 7 p.m. contest on ESPNU.
• Louisiana looks to keep its perfect record against the Panthers as the Ragin' Cajuns hold a 5-0 advantage over Georgia State.
• Since 2018, the Ragin' Cajuns have had tremendous success at home, holding a 27-5 record at Cajun Field.

A LOOK AT LOUISIANA
• Louisiana's defensive has been a force on opposing quarterbacks, as the Cajuns have recorded 19 sacks. The Ragin' Cajuns are averaging 3.17 sacks per game, which ranks tied for 11th nationally.
• Louisiana's offense has been equally as impressive as it has scored 213 points this season, the third-most all-time in program history through the first six games. The Ragin' Cajuns average 35.5 points per game, which ranks second in the Sun Belt and 23rd nationally.
• The Ragin' Cajuns rushing attack ranks seventh in the country and tops in the Sun Belt at 224.0 yards per game. Jacob Kibodi and Zeon Chriss rank in the top 10 in the Sun Belt and top 100 nationally in yards per game at 73.2 and 65.4, respectively.
• Jacob Kibodi was put on scholarship following the win at UAB and has rushed for 336 yards on 32 carries (10.5 YPC) with four touchdowns since the win against the Blazers.
• Zeon Chriss, who replaced Ben Wooldridge after four plays at UAB due to an injury, has stepped up to the challenge and has rushed for 314 yards and five touchdowns while also hurting defenses with his arm, throwing for 800 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 69.2% (63-for-91) of his passes.
• Chriss ranks 17th nationally and first in the SBC in completion percentage, second in the conference (24th nationally) in passing efficiency at 159.7 and third in the SBC in points responsible for per game (14.4).
• Kenneth Almendares has continued his stellar play from a year ago as he enters Saturday's contest 6-for-6 on his field goal attempts, extending his consecutive field goals made to 18, tying the school record previously set by Brett Baer between 2011-12.
