Louisiana Drops Match at App State, 4-2

Urchoeguia claims another singles win in the defeat
LAFAYETTE – Freshman Carla Urchoeguia was a bright spot for Louisiana, but her singles win was not enough as App State secured a 4-2 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday in Boone.
Urchoeguia is now 8-4 in singles play this year and picked up her first win of the year when playing on Court 2.
App State took the early lead when it came from behind to steal the doubles point.
The match was automatically tied when the point on Court 6 went to the Ragin' Cajuns by default, but the Mountaineers stormed back to go ahead 3-1 with wins on Courts 1 and 3.
Urchoeguia pulled the Cajuns within 3-2 after a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, win over Ellie Murphy, but App State secured the victory with a two-set win on Court 5.
Louisiana returns to action on Sunday, April 3, when the team faces off with Coastal Carolina. First serve in Conway is set for 9 a.m.
