LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Men's Basketball sophomore Jordan Brown has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 23 First Team by the organization last week.

Brown led the Ragin' Cajuns with 15.3 points per game this season and ranked third in the Sun Belt with 8.6 rebounds.

Defensively, the sophomore averaged 1.1 blocks per appearance which saw him rank seventh among conference participants.

Brown led the Ragin' Cajuns run in the conference tournament with a career-high 31 point performance against No. 1 seed Texas State. In the three-game span, the Roseville, Calif. native averaged 21 points and 7.6 rebounds.

As a result of his efforts, he was named to the all-tournament team by the league office.

Brown was one of just 36 players in the nation this season to have multiple 15+ point and 15+ rebound performances. In total, he recorded six double-doubles in his third collegiate season including a 13-point, 14-rebound performance against then-No. 14 ranked Houston on Dec. 14.

An extremely versatile scorer, the sophomore shot 46.2 percent from beyond the arc with 26 attempts.

Earlier this season, Brown was named to the Lou Henson Award Midseason Watch List recognizing the country's best Mid-Major player and was selected to the All-Sun Belt Second Team by the league's coaches.
