Flynn, Hinnant Named To All-Louisiana Men's College Golf Team

SHREVEPORT – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns standouts Charlie Flynn and Peter Hinnant were two of 10 student-athletes named to the 2020-21 Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Men's College Golf team, announced on Friday by the organizations.

The awards were based on nominations and voting by the state's golf sports information directors.

Flynn, a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference recipient, was a first-team All-LSWA selection as he finished as the team leader in scoring average for Louisiana during the 2020-21 season at 73.08. Flynn produced seven top-20 finishes on the season, with three top-10 performances on the course, highlighted by fourth-place finish at Border Olympics (71-71-72-214).

His low round of the season (a 4-under-par 68) came in the second round of the 36^th annual Louisiana Classics in March at Oakbourne Country Club. Flynn finished tied for seventh at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate (73-74-69-217) and recorded season-low 3-under 213 to finish in tie for 11th at Bayou City Collegiate Classic (69-74-70-213).

Hinnant, a third-team All-SBC pick, earned second-team All-LSWA honors after posting a 73.19 average with four top-10 finishes and 11 rounds par or better. Hinnant was the lone player to play in all nine events during the 2020-21 season and recorded a team-best six rounds in the 60's.

He tied a school-record for the lowest individual round, carding an 8-under-par 64 in the second round of the Louisiana Classics and posted the second-lowest individual round in the tournament's prestigious history.

Hinnant, who set the single-season, school-record with seven eagles, finished tied for seventh overall at the Sun Belt Championships (77-75-74-226) and was tied for seventh overall at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (68-69-74-211).
