Baseball Set for Final Home Midweek of the Season

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Baseball is set to host Southern for its final midweek game of the 2021 season at M.L. 'Tigue' Moore Field at Russo Park on Tuesday night.
Louisiana is coming off a sweep of North Alabama and looking to gain momentum for the final stretch of the year.
Southern recently took two-of-three from Texas Southern. This is the final game of the regular season for Southern before it starts the SWAC Conference Tournament.

LWSA Hitter of the Week
Louisiana's Connor Kimple has been named LWSA Hitter of the Week for his performance against North Alabama over the weekend. In the three games, Kimple went an impressive 7-for-9 (.778) at the plate. Kimple posted five total RBI on the weekend and gave himself up in three sacrifice plays as well. The junior had two perfect days on the weekend, going 4-for-4 on Friday night and 2-for-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Southern (15-27, 13-11 SWAC) enters play winning its last weekend series against Texas Southern. The Jaguars own the third-most wins in the conference.
