Three-time All-Sun Belt selection set to write the final chapter of her storied career with Louisiana

LAFAYETTE – Senior outside hitter Hali Wisnoskie, a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection who collected a first team nod last season, was chosen to represent Louisiana Volleyball on the 2020 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference Volleyball team.

Announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon, it's the third consecutive season Wisnoskie is named to the preseason list.

The leader of the Ragin' Cajuns offense, Wisnoskie has scored 300-plus kills in three consecutive seasons and has earned a reputation as of the Sun Belt's top point producers. In becoming just the second player in program history to record three consecutive 300-kill seasons – joining all-time great Nia Kiggundu – the Columbus, Texas product scored a career-best 359 kills in 2019.

She single-handedly led the charge in Louisiana's turnaround in Sun Belt play last season, as she averaged 4.68 kills per set on a .300 hitting percentage during the 9-1 regular-season ending run which catapulted the Ragin' Cajuns to a runner-up finish in the SBC West. During the stretch, Wisnoskie had double digits in kills every match and posted a .250 or higher hitting percentage in eight of the 10 contests, hitting .300-plus four times

Wisnoskie closed the 2019 season with 11 consecutive matches of double figures in kills, surpassing 20 kills twice in November, and wound up finishing with an astounding 235 kills in Sun Belt play.

Already having surpassed 1,000 career kills, doing so last Nov. 16 at Little Rock, she presently owns 1,022 career kills leaving her 34 shy of becoming the program's rally scoring era record holder.

Wisonskie, who seeks to join Kiggundu and become only the second Ragin' Cajun to claim four all-conference awards, has produced 56 career double-digit kill outings and carries a career .218 hitting percentage into the 2020 season.

Louisiana placed at least one individual on the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team for the fourth straight season.

In the preseason poll, the Ragin' Cajuns were picked third, and received two first-place votes, in the ever-so-tough SBC West Division. Only three points separated the squad from second place.

Fellow All-Sun Belt performer Avery Breaux and 2019 SBC Newcomer of the Year Hannah Ramirez join Wisnoskie in leading Louisiana into the 2020 season. The squad seeks to build upon last season's strong finish, and runner-up spot in the SBC West Division, as well as the recently completed program record stretch of 30 conference victories collected over the past three seasons (2017-19).

Louisiana is preparing to open the season in early September and is set to face a 16-game Sun Belt Conference slate against its West Division opponents (Arkansas State, Little Rock, ULM, Texas State and UT Arlington).
