In this Q&A feature article, you will "Get to Kneaux" Ragin' Cajuns golfer Hudson Dubinski. The Columbia, Mo., native competed in all seven events for Louisiana during the 2019-20 season and posting his best 54-hole total (2-under-par 214) in the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate in Mobile, Ala.
What has become your daily routine during quarantine?
HD: "Wake up at 8 and drink coffee and do all my schoolwork in the morning. Spend the afternoon outside walking my dog, Athena or play golf when possible. Spend the evenings with my family and watch Netflix."
What has Head Coach Sliman's message to your team been during this unprecedented time?
HD: "Coach Sliman has made sure we understand the importance of staying on a routine as well as stressing the importance of communication with each other while we are apart."
How have you and your teammates stuck together remotely during this challenging time period?
HD: "We have been meeting a few times per week on zoom as well as texting and communicating back in forth in our group message."
An important question: what is your favorite food?
HD: "My favorite food right now is smoked wings and pizza."
Take us back to when you decided to come to the University and become a Ragin' Cajun. What about the school helped you make that decision?
HD: "I became a Ragin' Cajun because it felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus. You won't find better people anywhere else and you won't find another person that loves Ragin' Cajun golf more than coach Sliman."
What is your earliest sports memory?
HD: "The sports memory I remember the most as a kid was watching Tiger Woods win the 2008 US Open on a broken leg."
Growing up, your sports hero was who? And why?
HD: "Growing up, my sports hero was Kobe Bryant. His competitiveness and drive was unmatched. He pushed harder than anybody and left everything he had on the court."
What is your major, and what about it do you like most?
HD: "I am a business management major. I like how broad the field is and the variety of jobs and career opportunities that come with the degree."
What class have you enjoyed most at the University so far?
HD: "My favorite class at UL has been Louisiana History."
What are your plans after your academic and athletic career at Louisiana is done?
HD: "I plan to play golf professionally."
