Louisiana Athletics has teamed up with RoadRunnerApp.com to offer a new series on RaginCajuns.com in which student-athletes share details on how they've adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offer insight into their personal lives.

In this Q&A feature article, you will "Get to Kneaux" volleyball's Kelsey Bennett. A native of the Dallas area, Kelsey has competed for the Ragin' Cajuns each of the past two seasons. In 2019, she turned in a 200-200 season of kills and digs - surpassing the century mark for the first time as a collegiate volleyball player. Kelsey will enter her junior season with Louisiana this fall.

What has become your daily routine during quarantine?
KB: After waking up, my first priority is to focus on my school work for the day. Then it's off to get my work out in, and go to work in the evening.

What has Coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot's message to your team been during this unprecedented time?
KB: Coach Heather's message to us has been to make sure that we remain just as unified, and together, so that we come return to campus we're stronger than before.

How have you and your teammates stuck together remotely during this challenging time period?
KB: We stay active through our group messages, and also keep up with each other through FaceTime calls and texting!

Take us back to when you decided to come to the University and become a Ragin' Cajun. What about the school helped you make that decision?
KB: I immediately fell in love with the campus and with how much the volleyball team felt like family for each other.

What are your plans after your academic and athletic career at Louisiana is done?
KB: After school, my plan is to return home to the Dallas area and coach a club volleyball team while getting my real estate license.

What is your earliest sports memory?
KB: My earliest sports memory comes from when I was about 5 or 6 and playing on a soccer team with my closest cousin.

Growing up, your sports hero was who? And why?
KB: My sports hero growing up was Kerri Walsh Jennings. My mom loved watching beach volleyball, and naturally I got into it as well. I loved watching her (Kerri) move and show how talented she was in the sand.

An important question: what is your favorite food?
KB: My favorite food is definitely pizza! I could eat it at any time of day!
