Louisiana Athletics has teamed up with RoadRunnerApp.com to offer a new series on RaginCajuns.com in which student-athletes share details on how they've adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offer insight into their personal lives.
In this Q&A feature article, you will "Get to Kneaux" baseball's Julian Brock. The 2020 season was Brock's first as a Ragin' Cajun. The Fulshear, Texas native earned five starts at first base, three as the DH and one behind the plate. Brock also hit for .243 average, which included one three-hit game and the game-winning RBI against Sam Houston State this past season.Â

What has been your daily routine during the COVID-19 quarantine?
JB:Â Usually work out everyday, whether its throwing a baseball or lifting. Doing physical activity to stay in shape.Â
What has Coach Matt Deggs'Â message to your team been during this unprecedented time?
JB: To make sure that we are taking care of our business and staying baggage free. Getting all of our school work done and staying in shape with what we can do.
How have you and your teammates stuck together remotely during this challenging time period?
JB:Â By keeping in touch with each other and always texting in our group chat to see how everybody is doing.

Take us back to when you decided to come to the University and become a Ragin' Cajun. What about the school helped you make that decision?
JB:Â The facilities, coaching staff, and history of the baseball program.Â

What are your plans after your academic and athletic career at Louisiana is done?Â
JB:Â Hopefully playing professional baseball but besides that I will begin working with my father in hope of starting a business.

What is your earliest sports memory?
JB: Hitting my first home run when I was seven years old and hitting the scoreboard.Â

Growing up, your sports hero was who? And why?
JB: Buster Posey because he accomplished so much at such a young age and I aspire to do the same.

JB:Â Hot wings from Wing Stop. Their wings are undefeated.Â
