Ragin’ Cajuns Earn LSWA Tennis Team Honors

LAFAYETTE - Highlighted by Ivailo Kermedchiev, the Louisiana Men's Tennis program placed two players on the LSWA Tennis Roster, the association announced on Saturday morning.
Kermedchiev picked up Honorable Mention honors after finishing 7-2 in singles and 7-3 in doubles matches during his freshman campaign. Keremedchiev played a majority of his matches at the No. 2 singles spot, but worked his way into the top singles spot at the end of the year.
During the year, he won a total of 14 matches, owned a win against No. 2 singles player Juan Martin Jalif from Florida State and earned a Sun Belt Tennis Athlete of the Week honor.
Louisiana Men's Tennis has also saw former Cajun tennis player Jan Galka make the first team after going a combined 14-5 on the year.
Head Coach Mark Jeffrey and the Ragin' Cajuns started the year 13-3 and claimed wins over reigning Southland Conference Champion Texas A&M-CC and reigning Big Sky Conference Champion Northern Arizona.
