Louisiana Athletics Announces Classroom of the Month Initiative

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Athletics will honor local classrooms in Lafayette Parish that consistently showcase their Ragin' Cajuns pride by naming them the Ragin' Cajuns Classroom of the Month, presented by McDonald's.

Each month, the department will highlight two classrooms, ranging from Kindergarten to 6th grade, that go above and beyond to support the Ragin' Cajuns.

"Our outreach through Acadiana and the state continues to be a top priority, even during the unique and challenging 2020 calendar year and beyond," said Nico Yantko, Deputy Director of Athletics/External Operations. "We want to see every kid in school to wear a Ragin' Cajuns shirt proudly. It's incredibly important for us to showcase our great University to the young people of our community and their families."

Winning classrooms will receive t-shirts, Louisiana Athletics activity sheets, McDonald's coupons and additional prizes. Winners will also have a photo of their classrooms featured on Louisiana Athletics' social media platforms.

At the end of the school year, all previous winners will be eligible to win the grand prize, which will be a catered meal by one of the department's restaurant partners.

To nominate a classroom, teachers are encouraged to fill out the Classroom of the Month form at RaginCajuns.com/classroom. Winners will be notified by email.
