@RaginCajunsSB head coach to present on his journey in softball and hitting topics

CHICAGO - Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball head coach Gerry Glasco has been chosen by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) to serve as one of the keynote speakers for the organization's Chicago II Coaches Clinic being held Friday-Saturday, Jan. 3-4, 2020.

The two-day event, being held at Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare, brings together coaches from all levels of softball across the country for an "up close and personal" session on topics from from pitching and offense, to base running, team culture and practice planning.

Glasco is being joined by Lonni Alameda (Florida State), Boo De Oliveira (Purdue), Kate Drohan (Northwestern), and Brandon Elliott (Virginia Wesleyan) in the lineup of speakers for the Chicago-based event.

In addition to participating in a coaches panel session to wrap up Friday's events, Glasco will present on the following topics: "Teaching the High-Level Swing" and "Hitting – The Mechanical Difference in the Swing Between the High and Low Pitch". He will also conduct a session detailing his journey through softball on Saturday morning.

Louisiana enters its third season under the direction of Glasco in 2020, seeking to build upon one of the program's most successful seasons ever. The 2019 squad swept the Sun Belt regular season and tournament championships, turned in only the second undefeated Sun Belt mark in conference history (25-0), boasted a Top 10 national ranking, earned the program's 21st consecutive NCAA Tournament bid, recorded the first 50-win campaign since 2012 and established a school-record 29-game win streak.
