Louisiana Softball Welcomes Pitcher KG Favors for the 2027 Season

Accomplished Alabama prep star joins the Ragin’ Cajuns bullpen
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Softball head coach Alyson Habetz has signed former South Carolina pitcher KG Favors, adding her to the roster for the 2026-27 academic year.
Favors is immediately eligible, beginning in the upcoming 2027 season, with three years of eligibility remaining.
A three-time Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) MVP and all-state selection for Orange Beach HS, Favors made her collegiate debut with SEC-member South Carolina this past spring. She made 13 appearances in the circle with three starts for the Gamecocks during the 2026 campaign.
Favors logged six appearances of scoreless softball pitched including SEC outings against Texas and Missouri.
She earned her first career win in her first appearance with three scoreless innings and four strikeouts against Winthrop (Feb. 8) and went on to log 17.0 innings in the circle.
In 2024, Favors finished 22-1 in the circle which ranks 11th all-time in AHSAA history for winning percentage. She recorded 15 shutouts with a 0.77 ERA and 197 strikeouts during the banner season.
She led Orange Beach HS to three straight AHSAA State Championships and in 2024 the program finished the season ranked No. 1 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings and was crowned National Champion.
Favors played travel ball for the Birmingham Thunderbolts, where she was named a 2023 All-American. She was ranked 18th overall by Perfect Game in the 2025 class.
