Louisiana Volleyball 2019 Schedule Preview: Non-Conference Matches

NOTE: The second of a three-part series previewing the 2019 Louisiana Volleyball season schedule: non-conference matches.

LAFAYETTE – A season-opening, seven-match homestand kicks off the 2019 season and highlights the non-conference portion of the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball schedule.

In all, Louisiana is set to traverse through 13 matches prior to the start of Sun Belt Conference play on Sept. 27.

The Ragin' Cajuns start the regular season, and the season-opening homestand, the weekend of Aug. 30-31 hosting The DoubleTree Classic at Earl K. Long Gym. The two-day event includes fellow I-10 based schools Incarnate Word, Tulane and UTEP.

The following weekend Eastern Michigan, Florida A&M and McNeese visit E.K. Long for the annual Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic set for Sept. 6-7.

During both weekends, the Ragin' Cajuns are slated to play at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

A midweek match with Southern Miss on Tuesday, Sept. 10 completes the seven-match homestand.

Over the final two weekends of non-conference play Louisiana travels to Oklahoma (Sept. 13-14) and Florida (Sept. 20-21) to compete in tournament play. The Ragin' Cajuns are set to challenge four Power 5 foes (Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma and Florida) over the two-week span.
