LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Athletics mourns the loss of former letterwinner and avid University supporter, Donald Mosing.
A former student-athlete for the Ragin' Cajuns in both football and track & field, Mosing graduated from the University with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in 1950. He began his career in engineering with Frank's Casing Crew and Rental Tools, which grew into Frank's International, headquartered out of Lafayette.Â
Mosing and his family's generous support can be found throughout the campus community, especially within Louisiana Athletics. The Donald & Janice Mosing Student-Athlete Performance Center was dedicated in 2017, which is a more than 100,000-square foot building that houses training and strength & conditioning facilities for all Ragin' Cajuns sport programs, as well as football offices. The Golf Indoor Teaching Facility at Oakbourne Country Club opened in 2017, as well, and was made possible by the generosity of many donors with lead gifts coming from Brad Mosing and matched by his father, the late Donald Mosing.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lafayette.
Statement from Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard
"Donald Mosing was a tremendous supporter of the University of Louisiana and the Ragin' Cajuns. The positive impact he and his family have made on our athletic programs will be felt for generations to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mosing family, as Mr. Don will be dearly missed."
