@RaginCajunsWT Falls To Coastal Carolina In Home Finale

LAFAYETTE - Louisiana Women's Tennis (6-11, 1-5 SBC), in its final home match of the 2019 season, could not hold off a late charging Coastal Carolina (11-7, 4-2 SBC) side, as the Ragin' Cajuns dropped the Sun Belt Conference matchup, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon.
For Louisiana, junior Clara Mantaux won both her doubles and singles matches on the day. While sophomores Dana Radovanovic and Floriane Picaut, along with freshman AK Harvey all notched doubles wins for Louisiana as well.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Doubles): Louisiana took two of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, Louisiana's Radovanovic and Mantaux easily handled Coastal's Jennifer Brown and Jessie Mount, defeating them 6-1.
Clinching the doubles point at No. 3 doubles for Louisiana was Picaut and Harvey, who topped Alexa Tiefel and Alicja Zduniak in a tiebreaker 7-6(5). The pair of wins in doubles gave Louisiana a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Singles): Coastal got a win at No. 3, when freshman Hoda Habib, lost to Somer Dalla-Bona in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. Louisiana's lone singles win came next, when Mantaux, knocked off Coastal's Mount in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 5.
Mantaux's win would be Louisiana's last win in singles, as Coastal would take the next three matches. Picaut fell to Demcenkova in straight sets at No. 1, 6-3, 6-4, which tied the score up at 2-2. Radovanovic then fell at No. 2 in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, to Coastal's Brown.
The final domino fell in Coastal's favor at No. 4, when Alicja Zduniak won in three sets over freshman Ai Noa Fabre, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. Fabre battled through the match, including coming back during the first set to win that set, but she could not hold off Zduniak, and the win locked up Coastal's 4-2 victory.
UP NEXT FOR THE CAJUNS: Louisiana continues Sun Belt Conference play with a trip to Alabama next weekend, starting with a visit to Troy (Apr. 6), before wrapping up its weekend at South Alabama (Apr. 7).
