@RaginCajunsMBB To Face South Alabama In Sun Belt Championships

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team will open play in the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Championships on Thursday against No. 8-seeded South Alabama in the second round at New Orleans' Lakefront Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m., and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

South Alabama (16-16) advanced to the second round after earning a 75-67 win over No. 9 seeded Arkansas State on Tuesday at the Mitchell Center.

Louisiana (19-12), the No. 5 seed in the 10-team field, earned an 88-84 victory over South Alabama in a game that featured 11 ties and 19 lead changes. JaKeenan Gant scored a team-high 28 points and led four players in double figures for the Ragin' Cajuns.
