Rawls and Lamb Lead No. 10 @RaginCajunsSB Past North Texas

Teams will meet again at 3 p.m. in bracket play semifinal at Baylor Invitational
WACO, Texas – 10th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball scored 10 unanswered runs after an early deficit to defeat North Texas in the team's final round robin contest at the Baylor Invitational.
The 10-2 (5 inn.) triumph stretched Louisiana's season-opening win streak to 14 games. It's the program's best start since 2015, matching that squad's mark.
The Ragin' Cajuns (14-0) recovered from a 2-0 first-inning deficit as Kandra Lamb entered in relief and quieted the Mean Green's bats and the offense responded in the bottom of the first with a three-spot.
Lamb went on to toss five scoreless innings of two-hit softball. Julie Rawls, who provided the lead with an RBI single in the first inning, also had the decisive blow hitting a three-run homer in the third inning to stretch the lead to 7-2.
LEADING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
Rawls was 3-for-3 at the plate and generated a game-high four RBI. The home run was her team-leading fifth of the season and fourth in the past four outings.
Sarah Hudek joined Rawls in delivering a three-hit game going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles. Hudek now has four doubles in the Baylor Invitational.
Lexie Comeaux and Casidy Chaumont provided Louisiana with production at the bottom of the order, both tallying two RBI.
Lamb did not issue a walk, struck out five and faced only two over the minimum in her relief effort of starter Carrie Boswell. The Australia native turned in her fifth scoreless appearance of the season.

No. 10 Louisiana and North Texas meet once again on Saturday in the first bracket play semifinal contest of the Baylor Invitational. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Getterman Stadium.

- With the bases loaded and two runs having crossed home plate for North Texas, Lamb entered the circle and promptly struck out the next three batters.
- In the bottom of the first, Alissa Dalton put runners in motion with a sacrifice bunt and an overthrow from Mean Green pitcher Bailey Tindell allowed both runners to score tying the game.
- Before the first inning closed, Rawls shoved a single through the right side to plate Dalton and give the Ragin' Cajuns the lead.
- Dalton and Bailey Curry led off the third inning with back-to-back singles, then Rawls took the first pitch that she saw over the center field wall extending the advantage to 7-2.
- Comeaux (two-run double) and Chaumont (RBI single) ended the game early by plating runs in back-to-back at bats in the fifth inning.
