Ragin' Cajuns Softball Enters April Ranked Inside Top 20

LAFAYETTE – As the season moves into the month of April, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball has returned to the Top 20 in both national polls.

In April's first release of the rankings, Louisiana (23-7, 10-2 Sun Belt) is listed No. 18 in the ESPN/USA Softball poll and No. 19 in the USA Today/NFCA poll.

The Ragin' Cajuns moved up two spots in both polls on the strength of a three-game sweep of South Alabama over Easter Weekend.

Gerry Glasco's inaugural squad, preseason ranked No. 22 in the NFCA poll and No. 24 in the ESPN/USA Softball poll, continued its season-long standing in the national polls.

No. 18/19 Louisiana spends the first week of April on the road. The Ragin' Cajuns face off with No. 9/13 Florida State in a Wednesday doubleheader in Tallahassee scheduled for 3 p.m. (CDT), then travel to Atlanta for a Sun Belt series at Georgia State April 7-8.
