    LOUISIANA GAME NOTES
  THE MATCHUP
- Louisiana Football kicks off the final month of the season with a trip a few hours east to Troy, Alabama to take on the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference matchup.
  LOUISIANA VS. TROY
- Louisiana and Troy meet for the first time since 2015, and it is the first time since 2014 that the Ragin' Cajuns are traveling to Troy, Ala.
- That two-year stretch where the Ragin' Cajuns and the Trojans did not play is nowhere near the 53-year stretch from 1951 to 2004 where the two programs did not meet on the gridiron.
  A RAGIN' CAJUNS VICTORY WOULD
- Continue to strengthen Louisiana's grasp on the Sun Belt Conference western division lead, moving its conference record to above .500 for the first time this season.
- Put Louisiana's overall record above .500 for the first time this season, since starting 1-0 against Grambling.
- Tie the all-time series between Troy and Louisiana at 7-7.
  SITTING ATOP
- Louisiana's 47-43 win over Arkansas State (Oct. 27) was big in terms of the SBC western division. It put Louisiana in a tie atop the standings, with ULM at 2-2, and allows Louisiana to essentially control its own destiny in terms of making the Sun Belt Conference Championship game.
- The Ragin' Cajuns have two more games remaining against western division opponents, vs. South Alabama (Nov. 17) and at ULM (Nov. 24).Â
- Louisiana is 2-0 against western division opponents this season, with the only two losses in the conference coming to eastern division opponents.
SCORING FASTER THEN A SPEEDING CAJUN
- Louisiana had two scoring drives under 35 seconds against Arkansas State (Oct. 27), the first, which took only 31 second, went 89-yards in two plays, and was capped off by sophomore running back Elijah Mitchell's 65-yard touchdown run. The second went 72 yards in one play as the Ragin' Cajuns scored in 21 seconds.
- The 21-second scoring drive was the fastest scoring drive for Louisiana since 2016. And it was the first time since Louisiana faced Arkansas State on Oct. 21, 2014, that Louisiana had two scoring drives in the same game in under 35 seconds.
  PFAU KICKS IT TO FRANKLIN
- Senior kicker Kyle Pfau nailed a 52-yard field goal against Arkansas State (Oct. 27) late in the first half, to pad Louisiana's lead. It was the seventh-longest field goal in school history and it was the fourth-longest field in the FBS this past weekend. That ranks Pfau's career-long kick in the top-25 for kicks made this season in the country and it is the longest kick made by a member of the Sun Belt this season.
- It was the longest kick for Louisiana since 2012 when Brett Baer hit a 52-yarder in the 2012 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
  PFAU GETS POTW NOD
- Pfau was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week following his two field goal performance (52, 47) against Arkansas State. He becomes the first member from Louisiana to get the special teams nod since Raymond Calais won it on Sept. 4, 2017.
- It gives Louisiana three SBC Players of the Week in the same season since 2014, when Louisiana would eventually end up with four by the end of the season.
  MITCHELL CAN CATCH
- Mitchell hauled in a career-long 64-yard touchdown reception, which was the longest play by a Louisiana running back this season, early in the first quarter. Mitchell would finish with 121 yards receiving on six receptions and one touchdown and the yards and receptions are both career highs.
- Mitchell's 121 yards is the first time that a Louisiana running back has caught over 100 yards since Elijah McGuire snagged 134 yards on Oct. 20, 2015.
- The 121 yards are the third most receiving yards in a single game by a Louisiana running back in program history.
  LOUISIANA RUSHES THROUGH OCTOBER
- During the month of October, Louisiana rushed for 1,039 yards giving them the sixth-most rushing yards in the FBS over the month. The Cajuns averaged 259.6 yards per game during the month, which ranked them 11th-best.
- So far this season, Louisiana has racked up 1,857 yards on the ground averaging 232.1 rushing yards per game. That puts the Cajuns in the top-20 among the FBS, ranking Louisiana's rushing attack 19th in total yards and 20th pushing yards per game.
  MITCHELL OWNS OCTOBER
- Through the month of October, sophomore Elijah Mitchell rushed for 403 yards, ranking him 17th in the FBS during the month.
- During that same stretch, Mitchell scored seven rushing touchdowns, which ties him for most touchdowns scored by a running back in the FBS. Mitchell is one of five running backs who have scored seven TDs during the month.
- Mitchell averaged 8.8 yards per carry during the month and that is the 14th best in the FBS for yards per carry during that stretch.
