@RaginCajunsWT Makes Trip To Ole Miss For ITA Southern Regionals

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Women's Tennis' fall season continues this weekend, as head coach Stephanie Vallejos takes juniors Clara Mantaux and Marina Rodriguez Garcia, sophomores Floriane Picaut and Dana Radovanovic and freshman Ai Noa Fabre to Oxford, Mississippi for the ITA Southern Regionals that starts on Friday, Oct. 12 and runs through the weekend until Sunday, Oct. 14.
FORMAT AND TIME: The tournament will feature 17 schools with Louisiana joining, Alabama; Auburn; Jacksonville State, Louisiana State, McNeese State, Mississippi State, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Ole Miss, Samford, Troy, Tulane, UAB, ULM, South Alabama and Southern Miss. It will be broken down into five total flights, two singles, two doubles and one singles consolation draw.Â
Doubles will kick things off on Friday, starting at 8 a.m. and singles will get going at 9 a.m. following the conclusion of doubles. Monday's championship matches, three in total, will have live scoring courtesy of Ole Miss Athletics.
FOUR IN SINGLES: The singles bracket will be broken down by two divisions, with two Ragin' Cajuns in the first division and two in the second division. Picaut and Radovanovic will represent Louisiana in the top division, while Mantaux and Garcia will play through the second division.
Picaut will take on Alabama's Jacqueline Pelletier in the first round and Radovanovic will face off with Alabama's Moka Ito. In the second division Mantaux will play Jacksonville State's Cristina Moll while Garcia, seeded sixth in the second division, will face ULM's Jimena Paula Garbino.
TWO PAIRS TACKLE DOUBLES: Much like the singles bracket, the doubles portion of the tournament will be split up into two divisions. In the first division will feature the return of Louisiana's pairing of Picaut and Radovanovic as they take on Auburn's duo of Lindsay Song and Caroline Turner. The second division will feature the Cajuns duo of Mantaux and freshman Ai Noa Fabre as they take on Northwestern State's pairing of Ela Iwaniuk and Antonia Blattner.
