Ragin' Cajuns Wrap Up Regular Season Against UTA, ULM

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team wraps up the regular season with a pair of Sun Belt Conference matches beginning Friday at the UTA Tennis Center.

Louisiana (8-8, 1-2 SBC) opens the weekend in a four-team Sun Belt pod facing UTA (8-8, 2-0 SBC) on Friday at 2 p.m., before wrapping up the regular-season on Saturday against ULM (10-1, 3-0 SBC) at 11 a.m. Live stats for the Louisiana-UTA match will be available at www.CajunStats.com.

The Ragin' Cajuns picked up a pair of victories last week to wrap up their home schedule, earning wins over Incarnate Word and Prairie View.

Senior Alexandra Way, who was named on Wednesday as the Sun Belt Women's Player of the Week, increased her win streak to six consecutive matches after earning a pair of straight-set victories. Way, the team's lone senior, is one of three players with a team-high six wins in dual matches for Louisiana, joining Abby Johnson and Carla Ortega.

Way has teamed with India Shiaelis to win their last three doubles matches for Louisiana with Ortega and Kelly Drew posting a team-best 4-2 record in doubles.

UTA is led in doubles play by the tandem of Astrid Gehre and Anna Wichert, who are 16-0 this season and ranked No. 71 in the latest ITA Collegiate Rankings. Agustina Serio has won a team-high 10 matches in dual matches for the Mavs with Angeles de los Rios posting a 15-5 overall mark and 5-4 record in dual matches.

ULM has a pair of players - Petra Horakova and Tiffany Mylonas – posting a 10-0 record in dual play this spring with Stefana Andrei posting an 8-2 record at No. 1 singles this spring.
