Cajuns Competing at Houston's FAST Complex on Saturday

Fans have an opportunity to watch Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball compete in either the morning or afternoon
HOUSTON – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball returns to Houston on Saturday, April 8 to participate in the FAST Collegiate Invitational.
One of the largest college spring tournaments in the country, featuring 16 teams from the Louisiana-Oklahoma-Texas region, the event is held at the FAST Complex located at 15400 Hempstead Road.
Doors are scheduled to open at 8:15 a.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be sold at the door and can be purchased with cash only.
The Ragin' Cajuns will play five matches throughout the day. Fans have an opportunity to watch the team compete in either the morning or afternoon.
Louisiana's morning session includes a 10 a.m. match with UTSA on Court 7 followed by an 11 a.m. matchup with Texas Southern on Court 4.
After a mid-day break, the Ragin' Cajuns play a trio of matches consecutively starting at 2 p.m. to wrap up tournament play. First up is 2016 national runner-up Texas on Court 5, followed by Rice at 3 p.m. on Court 6 and Sam Houston at 4 p.m. back on Court 5.
Head coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot and her squad are making their second trip to Houston in the spring 2017 non-championship segment. The Cajuns participate in a round-robin tournament at UH back on March 24.
The FAST Collegiate Invitational marks the final tournament for Louisiana this spring.
The Ragin' Cajuns are building toward the 2017 season which will mark the 10th season under the guidance of Mazeitis-Fontenot. Louisiana returns its kills leader (Stacey Reilly), starting setter (Jessica Bartczyszyn) and digs leader (Sydney Davis) from the 2016 season.
