Cajuns Wrap Up Competition At Pepsi Florida Relays

Louisiana back in action on Saturday at McNeese Springtime Classic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Louisiana's Damon Guidry, Dionte Heath and Kyle Baudoin each turned in top-10 finishes in their respective events while Tamela Young finished 15th overall in the women's shot put as the Ragin' Cajuns track and field team concluded competition on Saturday at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday at Percy Beard Track, located inside James G. Pressly Stadium on the University of Florida campus.

Guidry, who finished third overall in the men's high jump, cleared the bar at 6-8 3/4 to post the fourth-best mark in the Sun Belt Conference this season. Heath, who entered the meet ranked second in the SBC, finished ninth in the high jump with a mark of 6-6 3/4. In the men's pole vault, Baudoin cleared the bar at 16-1 3/4, finishing eighth overall and posting the fifth-best mark in the SBC this season.

Young, ranked seventh in the SBC, posted a throw of 45-6 1/4 to finish with the top SBC mark in the event that included athletes from Georgia Southern, Troy and South Alabama.

The Ragin' Cajuns finished 12th overall in the women's sprint medley relay, with the team of Erica Stewart, Kiera Mills, Hannah Siegmund and Lindsay LaGarde, recording a time of 4:06.27.

Louisiana will return to action on Saturday (April 8) when it heads west to Lake Charles to compete in the McNeese Springtime Classic that begins at 9 a.m. at the Cameron Communications McNeese Track Complex.
