Cajuns to Face Texas in Regional Championship

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team will take on the Texas Longhorns on Sunday, May 18 at noon, in the 2014 NCAA Lafayette Regional Championship game at Lamson Park.
The Longhorns beat Mississippi State, 4-3, behind a three-run home run in the top of the seventh in the nightcap at Lamson Park on Saturday.
The Cajuns are in their 24th NCAA Regional Tournament in school history, and will play in their seventh-straight regional championship game, dating back to 2008.
If Texas wins the noon game, a second game will be played for the Regional Championship, 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Â
Texas will be the designated home team, with the designation flipping teams in the case of a game two. Â
The game will be aired on ESPN3 (www.WatchESPN.com), with Melissa Lee doing play-by-play and and Kayla Braud as the analyst, or listened to on ESPN 1420AM, and ESPN1420.com, with Steve Peloquin and Bobby Neveaux on the call.
