JONESBORO, Ark. – Jane Morrill scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures and Arkansas State claimed the outright Sun Belt Conference women's basketball title with a 90-49 victory over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.

Aundrea Gamble scored 17 points with 10 assists, eight rebounds and five steals as ASU (19-10, 14-4 SBC) built a 35-21 lead at halftime before going 22-for-32 (68.8 percent) from the floor in the second half. Carlisha Wyatt added 13 points for ASU while Hanna Qedan added 10.

Louisiana (14-15, 7-11 SBC), which will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships that begin on Wednesday at New Orleans' Lakefront Arena, was led by Jaylyn Gordon, who scored a career-high 25 points on 8 of 19 shooting from the floor.  The freshman finished 4-for-12 from behind the 3-point line as the Ragin' Cajuns posted their second-lowest shooting percentage (26.9 percent) on the season, finishing 18-for-67 from the floor.

The Cajuns took an early 4-2 lead on buckets by Brooklyn Arceneaux and Gordon before a steal and layup by Gamble tied the game at the 16:44 mark. The Red Wolves took the lead for good on their next possession as Wyatt scored on a layup with 16:13 remaining.

After a bucket by Kia Wilridge with 10:16 remaining in the first half cut the Cajuns deficit to 12-9, the Red Wolves went on a 10-0 run to build a 22-9 lead.

Morrill followed her own miss with a putback to open the scoring spurt for ASU before connecting on a 3-pointer from the top of the key for a 17-9 lead. Jalen O'Bannon then converted on a three-point play for the Red Wolves with 8:52 left in the first half before a layup by Jasmine Hunt capped the run at the 8:24 mark.

Louisiana got as close as 22-14 on a steal and layup by Wilridge with 6:14 left in the first half before ASU used a 13-4 run, that was capped by a Morrill jumper for a 35-18 lead with 1:55 remaining.

ASU dominated the second half, outscoring Louisiana, 55-28, while holding the Cajuns to 9-for-35 aim (25.7 percent) in the final 20 minutes. A 3-pointer by Morrill with 12:24 remaining was part of a 23-7 run that pushed ASU's lead to 58-28 before the Red Wolves took their biggest lead of the game, 87-40, on a layup by Brittany Fowler with 1:51 left.

ASU finished 36-for-61 (59.0 percent) from the floor, 10-for-17 (58.8 percent) from behind the 3-point line and outscored the Ragin' Cajuns, 42-16, in points in the paint.

Arceneaux and Gabby Alexander, who combined for 40 points in the Cajuns' 77-76 win over ASU on Feb. 15, were held to a combined 10 points on 4-for-18 shooting. Arceneaux, who finished 2-for-14 from the floor, grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Ragin' Cajuns. Alexander, who was 10-for-17 in the previous meeting, finished 2-for-8 against the Red Wolves' zone defense.
