WHAT'S ON TAP?
The Ragin' Cajuns take to the road after a seven-game home stand, traveling to Boca Raton, Florida to take on FAU in the third-to-last series of the season.

CAJUN UPDATE:  The Cajuns swept their doubleheader against Houston, winning 9-1 and 1-5 on April 17, improving to 32-11 on the season and have won the last 14 games.  They climbed back into the national spotlight this week, earning a national ranking of 25 in the USA Today poll, and sit in 21st in the RPI rankings.

THE OWLS: The Owls are 25-25 overall and 8-10 in SBC games, lossing to FIU on Wednesday in Boca Raton.  They are 2-7 in their last nine games against conference opponents, topping North Texas once and Troy once.  The Owls are led by All-Sun Belt pitcher Taylor Fawbush in the circle, and Stephanie Call, a dual threat player.  Fawbush leads the team with a 1-9 record in the circle, and Call is batting .301 with 26 RBI and a team lead five home runs, as well as has an 8-9 record in the circle.  The Cajuns won all three games  by the mercy rule in last years series at Lamson Park.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING: The Cajuns are in the midst of a season-high 14 game winning streak, dating back to South Alabama on March 17.  They have seen five series sweeps in that time, with three-game sweeps coming against FIU, North Texas and Middle Tennessee.

HAACK ATTACK: Matte Haack is currently riding a season-high seven game hitting streak and has had a hit in all but four games during the Cajuns' current winning streak.    In that time she has batted .436 with five home runs and 23 RBI.  She is hitting .333 with 9 home runs and 41 RBI on the season.

TRIPLE DOUBLE: The Cajuns have three players with double digit home runs so far with Landry at 13, Draheim at 11 and Cherry at 10.  With Matte Haack at nine home runs so far, the Cajuns have the chance to be the fifth team in the Lotief Era to have four players reach double digit home runs.  It has been done in 2006, 2004, 2003 and 2002.

WRAPPING UP NONCONFERENCE PLAY: The Cajuns finished up their nonconference schedule on Wednesday with a doubleheader sweep of Houston at Lamson Park.  The Cajuns finished with a 21-7 nonconference record, with six games against top-25 ranked opponents, and 11 games against teams that were either ranked or received votes this week.

WALLACE JOINS ELITE GROUP: Sophomore pitcher Jordan Wallace now finds her self in an elite group of just 16 pitchers who have struck out 18-or-more batters in a seven-inning game.  It was the seventh time this season she has reached double-digit strikeouts.  She also now holds the UL record for strikeouts in a seven-inning game.

CAREER RECORD WATCH:  Nerissa Myers has averaged over one run per game since her return from an ankle injury.  She now has 32 runs scored on the season, and 223 in her career, placing her second all-time at Louisiana. She is just seven runs away from tying Jerie Alexander (1999-02) at 230 runs, the most all-time at Louisiana.

HITTING THE RECORD BOOKS: In the first game of the Cajuns' doubleheader against Southern Miss, the Cajuns tied one NCAA record and reached several Ragin' Cajuns Softball Records.  As for NCAA records, the Cajuns tied the record for most home runs in an inning (5), and individually, most home runs in an inning (Landry, 2).  Landry also tied a Ragin' Cajuns record for most total bases in a game with 13, and most home runs in a game with three.  It was the third time in Ragin' Cajuns history that they hit six home runs in a game, the last time was also against Southern Miss, on April 4, 2006.

DRIVING THEM IN: Three Cajuns rank in the top five in runs batted in the Sun Belt Conference. Shellie Landry reclaimed the conference lead last week and now has 50 on the season, Sarah Draheim sits in second with 47 and Matte Haack is fourth in the conference with 41.  As of Monday, April 15, Landry is 24th in the nation with 1.13 RBI/Game.

RUNS PER GAME: With 307 runs scored this season the Cajuns are atop the Sun Belt leader board.  As of Monday, April 15, they ranked 10th in the nation with 7.02 runs per game as of March 31.

FIRST-YEAR FOCUS: With three freshmen in the starting lineup for every game this season, the future is bright for the Cajuns.  Shellie Landry, Sara Corbello and Samantha Walsh have had a strong impact on the team in their first year of competition, combining for 22 HR and 97 RBI.  First-year players as a whole are batting .298 on the season (133-for-447) with 108 RBI, 25 HR, and 89 runs scored.  Last season a veteran Cajuns squad didn't send a freshman to the plate.

HOME RUNS...HOME RUNS EVERYWHERE: The Cajuns have hit 63 home runs on the season and lead the Sun Belt Conference.  As a team, the Cajuns rank 15th in the nation in home runs per game with 1.25 as of April 15.  Individually, the Cajuns have four batters in the top seven in the conference, leader Shellie Landry has 13, Sarah Draheim is tied at second with 11, Brianna Cherry is in a tie for third with 10 and Matte Haack is in a three-way tie with nine.

DOMINATING THE DISH: Senior catcher Sarah Draheim has been a huge presence both behind and at the plate for the Cajuns this season.  She leads the team with 302 putouts, and has started every game at catcher.  She is batting ..429 on the season and is second on the team and conference behind Shellie Landry, with 47 RBI and 11 home runs.

LET'S GET IT STARTED: The Cajuns have scored in the first inning in 27-of-43 games this season, and are 22-5 in those games.  The Cajuns have scored first in 34-of-43 games and hold a record of 27-7 when scoring first.  They have scored in the first inning in 12 straight games, and have scored first in 12 of the last 14 games, during their current winning streak.
