SAN ANTONIO, Texas – After going three months without hitting the links, the Ragin' Cajun golf team will get the spring season underway at the Oak Hills Invitational, which begins Monday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-71, 6,765-yard course at Oak Hills Country Club.
“We are very excited to start our spring season and see how our games have progressed over the winter break,” head coach Theo Sliman said. “The course is very similar to one of our home courses, Oakbourne. It should be comforting to the eyes of our team.”
Teams are scheduled to play 36 holes on Monday, beginning with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, Tuesday's final round will have tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. Live scoring for all three rounds will be available at www.GolfStat.com.
The 14-team field includes host UTSA, No.40 Baylor, Houston Baptist, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisiana, McNeese State, No.36 North Texas, No.44 Oklahoma, Southeastern La., Texas State, UT-Arlington, No.32 Tulsa and No.49 Wichita State. The Cajuns finished 4th at the Oak Hills Invite a year ago.
Seniors Yohann Vora, Brandt Garon and Ethan Savoy will look to lead the squad in San Antonio, while Kelsey Angelle and Peter Lamaris round out the lineup for the Ragin' Cajuns.
