UL Sets Program Record: The Ragin' Cajuns moved to 23-0 with their victory over McNeese State Tuesday evening. The 23 game start is the best in the history of the program's 32 year history.
Protecting the House: UL has won 31 straight games at Lamson Park, marking the longest current home winning streak in the country. The Cajuns will need to rattle off 23 more wins in a row at home to break their record of 53 game streak during the 1993-94 seasons.
Cajuns Crack Top 10: Louisiana has climbed into the top 10 in one of the two national polls, released on Tuesday. The Cajuns come in at No. 10 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll and stayed at No.11 for the second consecutive week in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll.
Seeking Revenge: Louisiana has not fared well against the two Arizona schools they will be facing. The Cajuns are 3-9 versus Arizona State, including a 10-4 defeat in the 2011 Judi Garman Classic. UL is looking to snap an eight game losing skid against Arizona, in which they are 3-19 all-time, including a 10-2 loss in the Judi Garman Classic last year.
UL vs. the Rest of the Field: The Cajuns are 4-2 against Fresno State, and have a winning record over the two Big Ten Foes they will face, holding a 2-1 advantage over Iowa and 3-0 against Penn State.
Orgeron Closing in on Records: Christi Orgeron's three-run blast on Tuesday night was her team-leading 10th of the year. Orgeron has moved into fourth place in school and conference history with 58 career homeruns. The senior ranks second with 241 career RBI and needs just six more to climb into first in Cajun's history.
Dynamic Duo: Christi Orgeron and Matte Haack are among the NCAA leaders in RBI. Orgeron leads the country with 47 runs driven in, while Haack ranks in the top 10 with 36 RBI on the year.
Nation's Top Scoring Team: The Cajuns are seeking to lead the NCAA in runs per game for the second consecutive year. Louisiana has scored 223 runs thus far, averaging 9.70 per game.
Brignac Climbs K List: Ashley Brignac struck out four batters against North Texas giving her 749 punch outs in her career. The senior has moved into third place all-time in Sun Belt history.
Beat the Streak: Matte Haack's 14 game hitting streak came to an end on Tuesday, joining Katie Smith for the longest streak of the year. Paige Cormier is the current leader on the squad hitting safely in six straight contests. The UL record is 25 games set by Kelli Bruce in 1999.
Judi Garman History: Since the tournament was renamed the Judi Garman Classic in 2006, the Cajuns are 13-16 in the tournament. Their best performance came in 2007 where the team finished 4-1 in the Classic.
Offense Clicking: Louisiana leads the Sun Belt in nine major offensive categories, including batting average (.362), runs (223), hits (254), homeruns (31), RBI (197), slugging percentage (.572) and on base percentage (.460).
