Women's Tennis Falls At Tulane, 5-2

"It was good for the girls to get back into competition after 2 weeks off," said UL head coach Greg Harkins. "But it was a tough day against a seasoned team. The girls put together a solid effort. It's a step forward in preparing for tomorrow match at La.-Monroe."
Tulane jumped out front with scoring four points quickly to seal the win. The Green Wave swept through doubles, then knocked off the Cajuns no. 1, no. 5 and no. 6 singles.
UL's Briggit Marcovich picked up the first point for the Cajuns with a 6-3, 6-4 win in the no. 4 singles.
Audrey Wooland also tallied a win after a hard fought 6-2, 7-6 (3) win.
Now the Cajuns will face one of the hottest team in the nation in the season finale on Sunday. UL will travel to in-state rival, Louisiana-Monroe, on Sunday to close the season.
"We've been looking forward to play them," said Harkins. "It'll be a test for the girls but we match up very well with them."
The Warhawks are 16-1 on the season and currently riding a 15-match win streak. The two squads were originally scheduled to play on March 6 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. but was postponed due to inclement weather.
