The 19th ranked Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns cruised to a 9-1 win over Troy on Sunday at Lamson Park.  The six-inning win clinches a series sweep for the Cajuns (27-5, 5-1) as they start their longest layoff of the season.

With the win, the Cajuns move to 14-0 at Lamson Park in 2011.

Shelbee Rodgers (7-2) picked up the win, throwing five innings, giving up just one run on five hits with three strikeouts.  Ashley Brignac threw one scoreless inning for the Cajuns in the Sun Belt win.

Christi Orgeron led the Cajuns with three hits, all for extra bases.  The Cajuns as a team had nine hits as a team compared to Troy's six.  Orgeron also posted four RBI for Cajuns and was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle.

UL would jump on the Trojans early, scoring four runs thanks to six hits in the first inning.  Nerissa Myers, Gabriele Bridges and Orgeron led off the inning with three base hits, with Orgeron's being a two-RBI triple.

Sarah Draheim delivered an RBI single through the left side that scored Orgeron and advanced Brianna Cherry, who earlier reached on bunt single, to third base.  Cherry would then score on an RBI single by Megan Granger to put the Cajuns up 4-0.

Troy (19-15, 1-5) would get one run back in the third inning, but the Cajuns defense did a good job to limit the damage.  The Trojans led off the inning with two singles and an RBI double by Nikki Hollett to score the run and put runners on second and third with no body out.

However in two pitches, the Cajuns escaped further trouble.  Hayden Gann lined into a double play to Myers at shortstop to retire the runner at second base, and on the very next pitch, Sarah Harris grounded out to Myers and the Trojans left the top of the third inning with a 4-1 lead.

UL would get the single score back in bottom of the inning when Orgeron hit her 14th home run of the season, a solo shot over the right-center field fence that gave Orgeron 54 RBI on the season.

The Cajuns would put the game away in fourth inning, scoring three runs, with just one hit, but three Trojan errors to take an 8-1 lead.  Ashlyn Williams (8-9) walked two batters and hit two in the inning.  Erikka Murphy got the only hit of the inning for UL as they took an 8-1 lead.

The Cajuns will take the next nine days off, as they do not play again until Wednesday, April 6 when FIU comes to town to start a three-game Sun Belt series at Lamson Park.
