UL at LSU Relays This Weekend

Friday's field events are scheduled to begin with the women's javelin at 10:30 a.m. The running events are slated to start with the women's 4x100-meter preliminaries at 2:15 p.m.
On Saturday, the women's 1,500-meter run with kick off running events at 10 a.m. and the field events will begin with the women's discus at 11 a.m.
Teams featured in the event will include several in-state programs such as host LSU, Louisiana Tech and Nicholls State. Akron and Memphis will also participate in this weekend's meet.
"We've had some solid performances the past couple of weeks and we look forward to improving those marks this weekend at LSU," said interim head coach Paula Ogunbanjo.
The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a strong showing at the Louisiana Classics, where nine individuals clinched podium finishes.
For the second consecutive season, outdoor track & field NCAA qualifying is solely based on top performance rankings rather than standard marks. Through two weekends of outdoor action, UL has 23 athletes that rank inside the NCAA's East Region top-48 in their respective events.
Senior Antwain Keyes is among those leading the nation with a leap of 6-10 ¾ in the high jump last weekend. Keyes' mark is tied for fifth nationally and currently is tied for second in the NCAA East Region.
In the East region, Myles Melancon (16.58m, 54-4 ¾) and Jacob Domingue (16.54m 54-3 ¼) are ranked 11th and 12th, respectively, in the men's shot put.
Zach France ranks 12th in the region with a time of 33:33.43 in the men's 10,000-meter run. Jasmine Anderson's time of 24.09 in the 200-meter dash recorded at the Louisiana Classics is 17th in NCAA East Region.
