Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team remained unblemished in Sun Belt Conference action with a 6-1 victory over the Arkansas State Red Wolves at the Cajun Courts on Saturday afternoon.

"It feels really good to be 2-0 in the conference," said UL women's tennis head coach Greg Harkins. "Arkansas State is a team that can sneak up on you if you give them a chance. I'm proud how the girls came out and worked hard to get this win."

The Cajuns (4-2, 2-0 Sun Belt) snapped a two-game losing skid, while opening conference action 2-0 for the first time since 2008.

Arkansas State (2-2, 1-1 Sun Belt) won the first doubles matchup as the tandem of Jenny Herring and Menna Kamal defeated UL's Sandra Alhqvist and Mia Grodon, 8-3, in the third slot.

UL bounced back to win the next two doubles contests, securing the team point. The top-duo of Milou Israel and Briggitt Marcovich secured a win over ASU's Emily Crowe and Ioana Teu, 9-8, winning the tie-break, 7-5.

Milou and Marcovich improve to 4-0 in doubles action this season for the Cajuns.

In the number two doubles slot, Julie Mazinova and Audrey Wooland knocked off ASU's combination of Jamie Nowland and Biljana Miloshevska, 8-0.

Playing the first time in the third singles slot, UL's Marcovich inked a victory over ASU's Herring in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

The Red Wolves Miloshevska garnered the team's only point as she defeated UL's Alhqvist, 6-2,6-4, in the fifth spot.

Mazinova, a senior for Louisiana, notched her fourth victory in the number two spot, winning her match 6-1, 6-4 over Nowland.

UL sealed their second league victory with Gordon's  6-3, 6-3 complete sweep of Menna Kamal. On the season, Gordon is 4-1 overall.

Israel notched the fifth point for Louisiana with a sweep ASU's Teu. The junior won the first set 6-4 and securing the second set 7-6 with a 7-5 tie-breaking win.
