Cajuns To Face San Diego State in New Orleans Bowl

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns football learned Sunday night that they will face the San Diego State Aztecs in the 2011 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl after an announcement from the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.

The Cajuns and Aztecs are set to kick off at 8 p.m. CT on Saturday, December 17 in a nationally televised contest on ESPN and ESPN 3D.

UL is 5-1 all-time against teams from the Mountain West Conference. The Cajuns last meeting against a MWC team came in 1994 when Louisiana topped UNLV 28-27 in a thriller at Cajun Field.

As of Dec. 3, the Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Department has sold over 15,000 tickets for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Fans that have not yet purchased tickets can do so at one of three places including online at RaginCajuns.com, in person at the M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field ticket office or over the phone by calling 337-851-2011.
