Do you want to become a Ragin' Cajun Cheerleader? Each spring, a new squad is selected and you could be one of their next members. The next Ragin' Cajun cheerleading squad will be chosen in April 2014 Email cheer@louisiana.edu for tryout & clinic info packet. Packets will be available in January of 2014.

Practices and Workouts
Cheerleading practice and strengthening and condition sessions are held throughout the summer, fall semester, winter break and spring semester 3 times per week on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Strengthening and conditioning sessions are also required and held 2 times per week.
Scholarships, Stipends, and Out of State Students
As of now there are no scholarships offered to cheerleaders, however stipends of $500-700 in the fall and $500-700 in the spring are given to eligible spirit group members. In addition, out of state tuition fees are waived for spirit group members, thus your tuition is that of an in state student.

TUMBLING:
- Standing Back Handspring
- Standing Back Tuck
- Standing Back Handspring Back Tuck

**If you can not safely execute any of the above skills you may pass, but will receive a score of zero for each skill you passÂ
STUNTING:
- Liberty
- Heel Stretch
- Stunt sequence of choice
Tryout Attire:
FEMALES:
- any combination of red, white, black
- sports bra/crop top
- athetic cheer shorts or spandex shorts
- cheer shoes
- hair neatly groomed and 1/2 up / 1/2 down
- make up to be worn, present how you would present on gameday
- no jewelry on any part of the body
MALES:
- any combination of red, white, black
- tshirt (or compression top, under armor style)
- athletic shorts
- tennis shoes
- no jewelry
- clean shaven
- well groomed
