After picking up a win earlier in the week, the Ragin' Cajuns soccer team earned their fourth point of the week with a 1-1 draw in double overtime against FIU on Sunday at the FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami, Fla.
The Cajuns improve to 5-12-2 overall and 1-8-1 in conference play with the tie. The Golden Panthers had a 21-9 shot advantage in the match while earning 11 corners to two for UL.
Louisiana got off to a quick start as Christa Rostohar capitalized on a miscue by the FIU defense forcing a turnover in the Golden Panther box and beat the keeper for her first collegiate goal to give UL a 1-0 edge.
The Cajuns carried the lead into the 21st minute when FIU's Kim Lopez netted a pass from Ashleigh Shim to even the contest at 1-all.
Both teams would take seven shots apiece in the first half as the game remained tied at the break.
UL stepped up their play defensively in the second half keeping the Golden Panthers from netting a go ahead goal as the score stayed tied 1-1 at the end of regulation.
Amanda Moorefield posted three saves in overtime to keep FIU from tallying a game-winner to give the Cajuns the draw.
Moorefield had six saves on the afternoon, while Erin Lynn had a team-best three shots.
The Cajuns are set to close out the 2011 on Friday when they head to Monroe, La. to face La.-Monroe at 4 p.m.
