Women Lose Close one to FAU on Road, 4-3

The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team fell in a close match on the road to Sun Belt Conference foe Florida Atlantic on Saturday afternoon in Boca Raton, Fla.
After winning the doubles point, the Cajuns were only able to pick up two singles points with the No. 1 Audrey Wooland, and the No. 2 Julie Mazinova, were able to take out the Owls' two top players Justine Humair 6-0, 6-0, and Natalie Totevska 7-5, 6-4, respectively.
In doubles play Mazinova teamed with Mia Gordon to take out Totevska and Cassie Bergeson 8-1 at the No. 1 spot, while Wooland paired with Milou Israel to take out Humair and Natasha Basma 8-6.
Three of the Cajuns (2-5) four singles losses went all the way to three sets, with Israel losing 7-6 in the second set after winning the first set 6-3. Gordon won her first set 6-2 before dropping sets 6-3 and 6-1 to Erika Mrazkova. Tara Vasovic defeated Dominique Wimmer 7-6 in the first set before losing 6-4 and 6-4 in the final two sets.
The Cajuns will take on their third straight Florida opponent, and second straight SBC opponent, on Sunday when they take on Florida International. First serve is slated for 10 a.m.
