Women Lose Heartbreaker to UCF, 4-3

The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team fell in a close match to the University of Central Florida on Friday afternoon, losing 4-3 at the UCF Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.

The Cajuns (2-4) will now play two more games in the state of Florida as they take on Sun Belt Conference foes Florida Atlantic and Florida International on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Cajuns started things off well with a win in doubles action. Julie Mazinova and Mia Gordon defeated Jenny Frisell and Katie Orletsky 8-3, while Milou Israel Audrey Wooland defeated Christy Core and Alexis Rodriguez 8-3.

In singles play it was Wooland defeating No. 83 ranked Jenny Frisell at the No. 1 position 7-6 (11-9), 6-4. Mazinova also pulled off a Cajun victory by defeating Alexis Rodriguez 7-5. That gave the Cajuns three points for the match, but they were unable to capture the fourth.

First serve for Saturday is slated for 2 p.m.
