Women Beat Southern Miss 4-2

The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team knocked off its third straight opponent on Saturday afternoon at Cajun Courts, defeating Conference USA's Southern Miss 4-2.
The Cajuns (5-6) got off to a good start, winning the doubles point against a strong doubles team. At the No. 3 spot, Tara Vasovic and Briggit Marcovich defeated Zoe Lee and Shannon Rogers, who had won 10 of their last 11 matches including nine-in-a-row.
In singles play, Audrey Wooland and Julie Mazinova won at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot, respectively. Mazinova beat Stephanie Dellocono 6-1, 6-1, while Wooland beat Vroni Van Berlo 6-0, 6-3.
Milou Israel knocked off Lauren Gutterman 1-6, 6-2, 7-5. Briggit Marcovich was leading her match against Elja Van Berlo 1-0 in the third set before play was stopped because the match was clinched.
The Cajuns will return to action on April 3 when they host UNO on Saturday at 2 p.m.
