Women Earn Second Win of Season

The Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team captured its second win of the season with a late-night win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday at Cajun Courts.

Freshman Shelby Dufrene closed out the victory on court six with her 6-2, 2-6, 6-1 win over Megan Harless.

"I'm really proud of these girls," head coach Tina Samara said. "We've been battling some injuries and adversity so every court and every point counted big-time tonight."

Other Cajun (2-2) winners include Julie Mazinova winning 6-4, 6-3 over Doris Kuselj. Milou Israel beat LeAnne Mascall 6-2, 6-0. Mia Gordon knocked off Adrienne Kovacs 6-2, 7-5.

The Cajun women will return to action on Feb. 27 when they travel to Starkville, Miss., to take on Mississippi State.
