The win improves the Cajuns (28-10) to 11-0 at home this season. UL's victory is also the seventh consecutive win for the Cajuns.
Bourgeois (8-2) earned the win in relief of starter Brignac. Bourgeois worked the final four innings of play, surrendering just one hit while striking out six. Her counterpart Brignac fanned five batters in the first three innings of the game scattering three hits.
The duo combined for the team's 14th shutout of the season. Neither pitcher allowed more than a single, and no Cowgirl runner advanced passed second base.
Three
Tankersley finished the game 2-for-5 with a pair of runs and two RBI. She blasted her 15th home run of the season, a solo home run to straight away centerfield. The homer was her fourth long ball in as many games.
