Men?s Tennis Tops Nicholls, 4-3

LAFAYETTE-Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns men's tennis team captured a 4-3 win over instate opponent
In singles action, UL and Nicholls split with three wins each. The biggest win for the Cajuns was sophomore Piotrek Banas' 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 defeat of Radu Ionescu at No. 1. The victory clinched the match for the Cajuns.
Other singles wins for the Cajuns came at Nos. 5 and 6. At No. 5, sophomore Jorge Delgado bested Sami Mouline 6-1, 7-6, while freshman teammate Murilo Martins defeated Alex Gasca-Silav 6-2, 7-6 at No. 6.
The Cajuns picked up the doubles point after collecting wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Delgado and junior Arlen Domoney topped Eric Fisher and Phenyo Matong 8-6 at No. 2. Banas and freshman Stefan Hawkins bested Mouline and Gasca-Silav 8-2 at No. 3.
Men's coach Mark Jeffrey said he was extremely pleased with the team's performance.
